Born on 28th November 1953 under the name Ayr Hospitals Relay Radio, we are Scotland's oldest hospital radio station.
We first started at Somerset Park, the home of Ayr United Football Club broadcasting football commentaries and playing music before the match and at half-time. In 1981, a three-and-a-half hour music programme started on Sundays.
The new Ayr Hospital Opened in 1992 and the charity then moved to a new studio within the building.

In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic we have made the difficult but rightful decision to close the studio at Ayr Hospital Radio with immediate effect.
The health and well-being of our volunteers are paramount and at the same time we must also show compassion and consideration to the inpatients and staff of Ayr Hospital.
There will be no Live presentation until at least Monday 6th April where we will review the situation and update accordingly. Until then we will play non-stop music via the Automated Playout System.
In the meantime, we wish you and your families well and the best of health during these difficult and challenging times.
On behalf of the committee and the on-air team thank you for your continued support.
